Important dates for the beginning of 2016

The school office and uniform shop are open from Tuesday 26th of January.

Timetables for seniors will be posted out.  The senior dean is available for interviews on Tuesday the 2nd February if you have any timetable queries.  Please phone the school office for an appointment.

Year 9 and 13 students start on Tuesday 2nd February at 8.35am.  There is a Powhiri for Year 9 students and students new to the school at 8.45am.  Parents and friends of the school are welcome to attend.

Year 9 and 13 students attend on Wednesday 3rd February.

All year levels attend on Thursday 4th February and Friday 5th February.  For Friday, students should bring their PE gear, togs, towel, sunhat, sunscreen, food and water ready for some action packed fun.

Scholarships
Scholarships are available for Year 9 and Year 13 students.

Year 13 Scholarships
There are three Scholarships available for Year 13 Students who are going on to higher education. Further information can be found here at Enrolments/Scholarships.  

The due date for these scholarships is 3.30pm on Friday 13th November 2015, with interviews being held before Senior Prize Giving.  The successful recipients will be announced at Senior Prize Giving.

Summer Uniform


Summer uniform is compulsory for Terms 1 and 4.  For a full list of summer uniform please go to our uniform page.  Only plain navy blue caps and bucket hats may be worn as sunhats.  The school has these available for purchase.  Black Roman sandals are the only acceptable sandals for our summer uniform.  If you have any queries or require clarification please contact the school.

Student Attendance - Our Expectations


At Wanganui City College there is an expectation that students will be at school by 8.30am.  At Wanganui City College full attendance is the norm.  At Wanganui City College all non-attendance is followed up.  Wanganui City College aims to have a 90% attendance for all our students for 2016.

We have a high expectation about uniforms, there is detailed information in our Uniform and our Shoe information sheets.
